It could just be me, but I’m not seeing people express their appreciation for others as much anymore. Why are some so afraid to say it, against showing it, or why is it the last thing on their minds? Today was a “choose your own” act of kindness day so I decided to tell a special someone how much I appreciate them. Let’s see what happens…
Today is day eight of my Blogging for Kindness 31-Day Challenge. Today’s challenge: pick your own act of kindness.
For me, this was by far the easiest act of kindness and the one that gave me the most warmth in my heart. Today I chose to surprise my hubs with a little token of “I appreciate you.”
I got out my little note cards, wrote him a short and simple note of gratitude with a splash of positivity and placed it in his sneakers.
Funny thing is he hasn’t found them yet and at first I thought, maybe I should tell him? Then I thought, maybe I was doing this more for me because I was being impatient to see his reaction and I couldn’t wait to get that toasty warm feeling in my heart?
I waited and didn’t say a word to him. I came to the conclusion that this note, this act of kindness was for him. Not for me. It was my gift to him and he takes all the glory.
I humbly kissed him good-bye this morning and watched him walk away thinking and visualizing his big beautiful smile when he does eventually discover … the note.
What will your act of kindness be today? Will you choose your own, or follow along with me and tell someone how much you appreciate them? Comment below. I want to know!
